Complete change of character for the Doctor. Tegan and Turlough have roles. Ron Jones manages to direct a good one. Other characters have roles. There is a great story here with some interest and credibility.
The hatstand stuff is still weird.

Viewed one way this is a unregarded gem. From the mid 80's just before Peter Davison ended his time on DW he seemed to make a few neat and satisfying little serials. This is one of 'em.
