Watched the 2007 DVD version.
Fan opinion on this is frustrating. It seems to pick on things needlessly.
I think the production on this is pretty good and this is easily director Michael Briant's best DW effort.
The Exxilon costumes are excellent, the Dalek POV shots are inspired. the Daleks without guns idea is NEW, the look of the world is spooky and scary.
The Terry Nation cliches are... well used again.... The companion/Doctor split, a character called Tarrant, Daleks attacked by locals and destroyed, the local monster (the root),
The music is Carey Blyton's best score (of 3).
This is a solid DW serial.
